Thank you to Park Row Books for gifting me a copy of this book in exchange of an honest review. All opinions are my own.
I rate this book a 5 out of 5 Stars.
I love Heather Gudenkauf, I have for years, well before I even know what Bookstagram was. So I am so happy to see her blowing up on the “Gram”. I remember when I first started blogging three years ago, I requested one of her books and was denied. So the fact I was able to request this one, and get approved a few years later was huge for me. I was so excited to read this book, and had very high expectations.
This book lived up to the hype, and the bar that Gudenkauf had set for herself. I was entranced by this book, I could NOT put it down. I had to find out what happened to Cora, and what parts Jordyn, and Violet played in it. Also, loved that this was a play on Slenderman, and the pulled for headlines vibes of the 3 best friends that tried to call on him. Ahh, so good!
This book just blew my mind, it was written so extremely well. The alternating P.O.V., the mixed media style, just so dang good.
At one point, I had a theory cross my mind, but I quickly brushed it off, and imagine that, my theory turned out to be correct! This was just such a compulsive, addictive read, my mind is still trying to catch up to the very last line of this book. Honestly, hands down, this book has the best last line, of any book I have read, in a very, very long time! Heather Gudenkauf, if you are reading this review. I NEED more! Please, please, write a book #2!
