Book Review Of “Cogheart” By Peter Bunzl @peterbunzl @blueslipper @barbfisch @jollyfishpress

Some secrets change the world in a heartbeat…

Lily’s life is in mortal peril. Her father is missing and now silver-eyed men stalk her through the shadows. What could they want from her?

With her friends—Robert, the clockmaker’s son, and Malkin, her mechanical fox—Lily is plunged into a murky and menacing world. Too soon Lily realizes that those she holds dear may be the very ones to break her heart…

Murder, mayhem and mystery meet in this gripping Victorian adventure.

Thank You Blue Slipper Media and Jolly Fish Press for gifting us a cop of COGHEART in exchange of an honest review. All opinions are our own.

Liam and Gavin really liked this book, it did take us a little while to read through as I only read 1-2 chapters at a time. We ended up really liking the story though. I am a big Steampunk in literature fan, and it was fun introducing my twins to something new.

The boys thought this was a fun book, I liked the adventurous nature of it. It was a clean, healthy Middle Grade book. I do not have a lot of experience reading and review middle grade novels, so I am going to try my best. This was super creative, I liked the details, and the characteristics that the author gave Lily and Robert, and we adored the little mechanical fox! Such a fun aspect to the book.

I felt like this could have been an incredibly fast read, however because I read it in such small parts it took a long time to read. All the better for us though.

Liam and Gavin rate it 2 Thumbs up, Mommy gives it 3 out of 5 Stars.

Book Two, titled MOODLOCKET comes out May 1st. Both Goodread links will be posted below.
