Thank you William Morrow Books for gifting me a copy of this book, in exchange of an honest review. All opinions are my own.
I rate this book a 3.5 out of 5 Stars.
I haven’t read Agatha Christie before, but I have read Ruth Ware, and I do see a lot of similarities between “Ware” and “Foley”. This was the true definition of a slow burn thriller. The kind of book that takes its time, it builds the story, develops the plot, bounces around from character to character, teasing you with plot twists, info drops, and just enough to keep you up late at night turning the pages to figure out what the hell happened.
I took a lot of time reading this one, however once I got to the last 100 pages, I devoured them within a matter of a couple hours. This has got to be one of the greatest endings I’ve read in awhile. Well done, and such a well executed mystery. I also want to point out, that if you loved Sahri Lapena’s AN UNWANTED GUEST, you will LOVE this book!
I see a man coming through the falling snow. From a distance, through the curtain of white, he looks hardly human, like a shadow figure.-Lucy Foley
