I rate this book a 4 out of 5 Stars.
I needed a good love story, but I do not like romance books. I like tragic, heart wrenching love stories. Something tragic, heartbreaking, and full of betrayal! This book had it all, and I loved every dramatic page! I love a book that gives you two wonderful male leads, and gives the opportunity to love them both. However, I knew who I wanted her with from the second I started the book.
This was such a good read, a perfect mix of all the above mentioned things that I love in a romance book. I appreciated that every character had a flaw, and that while she knew people in her life weren’t perfect, she worked hard to make up for their shortcomings, and to do what was right.
Santopolo did an amazing job conveying the grief that Nina felt after her dad passed, and the wide array of emotions that she went through after she started digging into her dad and their family history. The life and parent she thought was perfect, was anything but. And I absolutely loved it!!
