Blog Tour For “The Break Line” By James Brabazon @BerkleyPub

A journalist and filmmaker, debut author James Brabazon has traveled to some of the most hostile environments on the planet, including Sierra Leone, where the book is set. THE BREAK LINE’s publication has already drawn early buzz from Publishers Weekly and Library JournalPublishers Weekly even featured THE BREAK LINE in a story on new mysteries and thrillers set outside of the US and Europe. Brabazon describes the novel as a way to “convey what he saw during two decades of reporting from West Africa,” as well as represent the people he met in Sierra Leone, who “are often underrepresented for western readers.” Publishers Weekly also gave the book a starred review.

In THE BREAK LINE, readers are introduced to British intelligence officer Max McLean—an assassin who’s never missed, but one mistake now has him paying the price. For years, Max has done the jobs that no one else will—but that all changes when his superiors send him to Sierra Leone on what seems to be a suicide mission. Sent to a military research facility to meet a former comrade-in-arms, Max finds the bravest man he ever knew locked up for his own protection. His friend lost his mind during an operation in West Africa. What he finds is a horror beyond his nightmares. Rebel forces are loose in the jungle and someone or something is slaughtering innocent villagers. It’s Max’s job to root out the monster behind these abominations, but he soon discovers that London may consider him the most disposable piece in this operation.

Combining the authenticity of Frederick Forsyth, the brutally intense action of Clive Cussler and Mark Greaney, and the plausible science of James Rollins, THE BREAK LINE is a stunning debut thriller from a fantastic new voice in thriller writing. We encourage you to jump into THE BREAK LINE and get ahead of the curve for the thriller that’s sure to be the first knockout debut novel of 2019.

Thank you Berkley Pub for inviting me on to the Blog Tour and for providing me with an E- ARC in exchange of an honest review. All opinions are my own.

I rate this book a 3.5 out of 5 Stars.

This was a brilliant debut novel and I am very glad that I got to be a part of it. The writing was new and fresh, the plot was intense, and I felt like I flew through the pages. Granted I do not read a lot of this type of thrillers. So it’s a bit outside of my realm. For a newbie to the more action packed side of thrillers, I think this was a job well done. I think that THE BREAK LINE is going to have a lot of readers, and will have great success.
