Title: A HEART IN A BODY IN THE WORLD
Author: Deb Caletti
Pub. Date: September 18, 2018
Publisher: Simon Pulse
Formats: Hatdcover, eBook, Audiobook
When everything has been taken from you, what else is there to do but run?
So that’s what Annabelle does—she runs from Seattle to Washington, DC, through mountain passes and suburban landscapes, from long lonely roads to college towns. She’s not ready to think about the why yet, just the how—muscles burning, heart pumping, feet pounding the earth. But no matter how hard she tries, she can’t outrun the tragedy from the past year, or the person—The Taker—that haunts her.
Followed by Grandpa Ed in his RV and backed by her brother and two friends (her self-appointed publicity team), Annabelle becomes a reluctant activist as people connect her journey to the trauma from her past. Her cross-country run gains media attention and she is cheered on as she crosses state borders, and is even thrown a block party and given gifts. The support would be nice, if Annabelle could escape the guilt and the shame from what happened back home. They say it isn’t her fault, but she can’t feel the truth of that.
Through welcome and unwelcome distractions, she just keeps running, to the destination that awaits her. There, she’ll finally face what lies behind her—the miles and love and loss…and what is to come.

MY REVIEW: Thank you Simon Pulse and Rockstar Book Tours for inviting me. All opinions are my own.
I rate this book a 4 out of 5 Stars.
This book was so much more heartbreaking than I thought it was going to be. It was very emotional, and intense, and it did a good job portraying what it feels to be a young woman in today’s society, and emphasises the worth we put on ourselves. There are going to be some high emotions for readers regarding talk of PTSD, Stalking, Gun Violence, Abuse, and etc. So if those kind of topics are really hard for you to read, please proceed with caution.
I feel like this is a book everyone should read, Young Adults, and Adults, you will love it, and you will love the feelings it’s going to evoke from you. I enjoyed the writing, the pace, the word choices, and the flow of the chapters. It made for a very quick read, and when a book is this intense, I want it to be a fast one, so I can read it, and then start the healing process.
I loved the character of Annabelle, I love that she didn’t like something, and so she changed it, might have been in a very unique way, but she did it, and she had the support of her grandpa, and her siblings. This was just a very sad, yet heart warming read, and I am glad I got to be a part of it.
