Book Review Of “Lying In Wait” By Liz Nugent @Gallerybooks @lizzienugent
From the international bestselling author of Unraveling Oliver, an “unputdownable psychological thriller with an ending that lingers long after turning the final page” (The Irish Times) about a Dublin family whose dark secrets and twisted relationships are suddenly revealed.
My husband did not mean to kill Annie Doyle, but the lying tramp deserved it.
On the surface, Lydia Fitzsimons has the perfect life—wife of a respected, successful judge, mother to a beloved son, mistress of a beautiful house in Dublin. That beautiful house, however, holds a secret. And when Lydia’s son, Laurence, discovers its secret, wheels are set in motion that lead to an increasingly claustrophobic and devastatingly dark climax. (From Goodreads)

I rate this book a 4 out of 5 Stars.
Holy Bat Sh!t crazy Batman! This book was insane! If you are a fan of macabre, and dark twisted family dramas, than this book is perfect for you! I devoured this one, I read over 200 pages the first time I sat down to read it. I was lost in the pages within the first few sentences. I love when a story grabs a hold of me so quickly, and that I don’t have to wait until halfway through the book to be interested in it.
Shortly into this book, you realize something is off, WAY off. I couldn’t quite put my finger on it, but I knew something was lingering, and I was so ready to find out what it was. ‘LYING IN WAIT” is full of plot twists, dark secrets, and insane turns. There was so many WTF moments, and many time’s I was so mind blown by one of the characters. This was seriously a “please keep your hands and feet inside the ride at all times, roller coaster ride” I loved every second of it. Pick up this book, and hold on tight guys!
I have “UNRAVELING OLIVER” by Liz Nugent, but I have not yet to read it, but that changes, now. I am pretty sure I would read a phone book if Liz Nugent wrote it.
