Book Review Of “Ocean Meets Sky” By Terry and Eric Fan @Simonkids @Simonbooks
From the creators of the gorgeous bestseller The Night Gardener, comes a stunning new picture book about a young boy who sets sail to find a place his grandfather told him about…the spot where the ocean meets the sky.
It’s a good day for sailing.
Finn lives by the sea and the sea lives by him. Every time he looks out his window it’s a constant reminder of the stories his grandfather told him about the place where the ocean meets the sky. Where whales and jellyfish soar and birds and castles float.
Finn’s grandfather is gone now but Finn knows the perfect way to honor him. He’ll build his own ship and sail out to find this magical place himself!
And when he arrives, maybe, just maybe, he’ll find something he didn’t know he was looking for. (From Goodreads)
Thank you Simon & Schuster Children’s #partner for sending the boys and I this BEAUTIFUL book. All opinions are our own.
We give this book 5 out of 5 stars.
First off, the illustrations are amazing, so eye-catching, and beautiful. I will include the boys favorite pages below. (They are mine to, and you will see why)
This story is sweet, and I love that it’s about a boy playing outside and using his imagination. To dream up a world that he envisions. Finn see’s a lot of neat things, and gets to meet some fun sea creatures! I love that the story is simple, but moving as well. A child might not catch on to the moral as quickly as an adult will. But either well this book will be well-loved, and I would say a child between the ages 2-6 will really enjoy it.
