Blog Tour and Book Review For “Warning Light” By David Ricciardi @Berkleypub

When a commercial aircraft makes an emergency landing at an Iranian military base, it looks like a crisis has been narrowly avoided. But for undercover intelligence analyst Zac Miller, the CIA-staged crash landing is the only part of his assignment that goes right.

What was supposed to be a simple surveillance mission quickly heads south when the Iranians apprehend the smooth-talking American. Never trained to be a field operative, Zac’s in over his head, especially when it turns out escaping from captivity is only the beginning of his problems. On the run across Europe from both Iranian agents and Western authorities who are convinced he’s defected, Zac finds himself fighting for his life, with no guarantee he’ll even have one to go back to (From Goodreads)

Thank you to Berkley Pub #Partner for inviting me onto the “Warning Light” Blog Tour. Also, thank you for the free book. Below you will find my honest review. All opinions are my own.

I rate this book a 3.5 out of 5 stars.

This book is being billed as a good read for fans of the Jason Bourne movies, and I have to say that I agree. I do not really like action movies, however I really did enjoy the Bourne series, which is why I thought I’d like this book. It is also billed as a Thriller, but to be honest I don’t agree. It should be action/suspense (in my opinion)

This was a great read, it was filled with fast paced action sequences, the kind that start, and don’t stop until you’ve come to the last page. Much like action movies. Which is nice to have in book form, it really prevents those laggy moments.

I liked Zac, he was young and naive, but he was strong and he never game up. I enjoyed reading this book from his point of view.

Christine added a sense of humor, that I think was needed, it broke up the way this book was read, made it a little lighter.

Overall I was very impressed with this book, and very impressed this is a debut novel. For readers of this genre and style of book, I think Ricciardi is going to do well, and sell many books! I know I will be recommending him.

“Warning Light” is out on April 17th- I will add Goodreads and Amazon Links Below. If you’ve read this book feel free to drop a comment below.

About the author

A keen outdoorsman, David Ricciardi incorporated many personal experiences into WARNING LIGHT. He’s backpacked through the mountains of the western United States and Alaska, received extensive training from law-enforcement and US special operations personnel, and once woke up for a 2 AM watch aboard a sailboat only to discover that it was headed the wrong way through the Atlantic sea lanes in heavy weather, with one of the crew suffering from hypothermia. In addition to being an avid sailor, David is also a certified scuba rescue diver and a former ski instructor. WARNING LIGHT is his first novel.
