They built a life on lies
Sutton and Ethan Montclair’s idyllic life is not as it appears. The couple seems made for each other, but the truth is ugly. Consumed by professional and personal betrayals and financial woes, the two both love and hate each other. As tensions mount, Sutton disappears, leaving behind a note saying not to look for her.
Ethan finds himself the target of vicious gossip as friends, family and the media speculate on what really happened to Sutton Montclair. As the police investigate, the lies the couple have been spinning for years quickly unravel. Is Ethan a killer? Is he being set up? Did Sutton hate him enough to kill the child she never wanted and then herself? The path to the answers is full of twists that will leave the reader breathless. (From Goodreads)
This is a total 5 star book!
Thank you #Mirabooks for sending me this ARC to read and review. This book comes out on September 5th, and I am not even playing, run and order it now.
LIE TO ME is brilliant, written in the multiple view points, Ethan, Holly (the investigator), and a mystery person. The mystery person could be anyone, you really have no clue who it is, could be Ethan, could be the murderer, could be a neighbor. You really just don’t know, and because of that, this book pulls you in. Not only do you want to know more about Ethan and Sutton, you want to know more about the mystery writer. The who, what, and why. So damn good!
The back story that is told of both Ethan and Sutton, paints them as terrible people, you really just kind of dislike the both of them, but in the same breath, you love the both of them. LIE TO ME, is one of the most cleverly written books I have read in a while. I was completely blind-sided by the plot twist, and then again at the ending. I want to erase my memory and read this book again. Seriously guys. Pick it up and read it. I will even include the link for you to preorder it . If you have read this, please let me know your thoughts.
Somewhere, deep inside, there is a kernel of hate that each and every one of us must push away. Push down. Pretend it doesn’t exist. We’re all such good people. Until we’re not. Until something pushes us over the edge.
