Bo Luxton has it all—a loving family, a beautiful home in the Lake District, and a clutch of bestselling books to her name. Enter Alice Dark, an aspiring writer who is drifting through life, with a series of dead-end jobs and a freeloading boyfriend. When they meet at a writers’ retreat, the chemistry is instant, and a sinister relationship develops. Or does it? Breathlessly pacey, taut and terrifying, Exquisite is a startlingly original and unbalancing psychological thriller that will keep you guessing until the very last page. (From Goodreads)
This is a FIVE star book for me!!!
Wow!, let me just start this review off with that word. Because that’s how I felt reading the last page. I didn’t want to wait to write this review, because I wanted to put my thoughts down immediately.
I saw “Exquisite” pop up on Orenda Books Twitter account, and I knew immediately that this book needed to be mine. And my lovely Karen sent it to me! Thanks Karen! I am not sure if many of you know, but I am a die-hard fan of “Domestic Thrillers” and this book, simply based on the cover was screaming my name.
The best part of this book is “Guess The Stalker” which one of these females just loses themselves completely? I had to know, I read as fast as I could, while completely devouring every page, and letting the story take over. Yesterday alone I read 200 pages.
“Exquisite” stands true to the title, it is so exquisitely written. Sarah Stovells passion for writing shows throughout this book, the world she created is sensual, dramatic, beautiful, and dark. This book will stick with me, forever and will be one of the books I recommend the most. I can only hope that this story isn’t over.
That was the trouble. We were a potent mix, she and I. The passion was deep, and shot straight to our cores, where other people couldn’t reach. It was divine love, but when it turned, it dragged us both through hell. Sarah Stovell
