She helps people conquer their demons. But she has a few of her own…
In the halls of the psychiatric ward, Dr. Zoe Goldman is a resident in training, dedicated to helping troubled patients. However, she has plenty of baggage of her own. When her newest patient arrives – a beautiful sociopath who murdered her mother – Zoe becomes obsessed with questions about her own mother’s death. But the truth remains tauntingly out of reach, locked away within her nightmares of an uncontrollable fire. And as her adoptive mother loses her memory to dementia, the time to find the answers is running out.
As Zoe digs deeper, she realizes that the danger is not just in her dreams but is now close at hand. And she has no choice but to face what terrifies her the most. Because what she can’t remember just might kill her. (From Goodreads)
I give this book a solid 4 out of 5 stars.
First off, let me thank the lovely ladies at BookSparks, for sending me the whole trilogy to read! It is going to make for a very fun binge read.
How rare of a setting for a book, I mean a psychiatrist and the patients she sees in the psych ward. Now add-on all the things that happen in Zoe’s personal life, and it makes for a pretty enjoyable read.
When I started this book, I didn’t read the synopsis, I went in totally blind, so it was actually a very thrilling ride for me, I actually finished it the same day I started reading it. My only complaint, is I really disliked the immaturity of Scotty. Other than that, I thought the characters were well-developed, the story was unique, and it stands out against others in this same genre. And the nightmares Zoe has, were enough to give me some crazy dreams of my own, once I fell asleep last night. And that ending, oh my gosh, it was absolute perfection! So chilling!
I look forward to starting “The Girl With No Name” today and continuing on with Dr. Zoe Goldman
