Book Review Of “Behind Her Eyes” By Sarah Pinborough
Louise is a single mom, a secretary, stuck in a modern-day rut. On a rare night out, she meets a man in a bar and sparks fly. Though he leaves after they kiss, she’s thrilled she finally connected with someone.
When Louise arrives at work on Monday, she meets her new boss, David. The man from the bar. The very married man from the bar…who says the kiss was a terrible mistake, but who still can’t keep his eyes off Louise.
And then Louise bumps into Adele, who’s new to town and in need of a friend. But she also just happens to be married to David. And if you think you know where this story is going, think again, because Behind Her Eyes is like no other book you’ve read before.
David and Adele look like the picture-perfect husband and wife. But then why is David so controlling? And why is Adele so scared of him?
As Louise is drawn into David and Adele’s orbit, she uncovers more puzzling questions than answers. The only thing that is crystal clear is that something in this marriage is very, very wrong. But Louise can’t guess how wrong―and how far a person might go to protect their marriage’s secrets.
In Behind Her Eyes, Sarah Pinborough has written a novel that takes the modern-day love triangle and not only turns it on its head, but completely re-invents it in a way that will leave readers reeling. (From Amazon)
*I received this book for free, from Flat Iron Books, in exchange of an honest review. All opinions are of my own*
This book is another 5 star Thriller. And so beyond fascinating, that it’s hard to put my thoughts into words for this review. All that comes to mind is #wtfthatending
The first Chapter, which is equivalent to one paragraph, grabbed me, and never let me go. I rode this incredible journey, with 3 characters, that I just could not get enough of. All the while trying to wrap my head around the premise of this book, a topic I didn’t know much about. I went into this book blind, not knowing a thing, and I honestly wouldn’t have wanted it any other way.
I related to Louise, I was a single mom for years, I know the struggle, and I know how dating takes a back seat. So when she met David, I knew exactly how hard it was, for her to not think of him, and to fight the desire to be with him. Especially when its the first person you’ve felt something for in years. The writing in this book is so incredibly well done.
That ending though, it leaves me wanting more, so much more! I need to know the future, I need to know what happens. And I need YOU to read this book, and don’t miss out on something that is definitely going to blow the minds of many, many readers. It comes out Jan. 31st. Preorder, add it to your TBR’s, just don’t miss out on this one.
