June Fantasy and Sci-Fi Subscription Box Review

Okay, let me start off by saying, I have always loved this book box, I have been with them for four or five months now. It has been pretty neat watching them grow, and tweak things, and making small improvements month after month. I can honestly say, it has paid off, look at this beauty of a box. Can you see that? TWO books, in ONE box. For the low price of $27.99, that is half the price of another book box, I had recently subscribed to. Okay, so let’s get to the details!

The Crown’s Game, by Evelyn Skye, (autographed book-plate included)

Vika Andreyeva can summon the snow and turn ash into gold. Nikolai Karimov can see through walls and conjure bridges out of thin air. They are enchanters—the only two in Russia—and with the Ottoman Empire and the Kazakhs threatening, the tsar needs a powerful enchanter by his side.

And so he initiates the Crown’s Game, an ancient duel of magical skill—the greatest test an enchanter will ever know.  The victor becomes the Imperial Enchanter and the tsar’s most respected adviser. The defeated is sentenced to death.

Raised on tiny Ovchinin Island her whole life, Vika is eager for the chance to show off her talent in the grand capital of Saint Petersburg. But can she kill another enchanter—even when his magic calls to her like nothing else ever has?

For Nikolai, an orphan, the Crown’s Game is the chance of a lifetime. But his deadly opponent is a force to be reckoned with—beautiful, whip smart, imaginative—and he can’t stop thinking about her.

And when Pasha, Nikolai’s best friend and heir to the throne, also starts to fall for the mysterious enchantress, Nikolai must defeat the girl they both love . . . or be killed himself.

As long-buried secrets emerge, threatening the future of the empire, it becomes dangerously clear . .  the Crown’s Game is not one to lose. (from Amazon)

Next one is Book one of a trilogy. And a beautiful cover.

Shattered Blue, By Lauren Bird Horowitz-

For Noa and Callum, being together is dangerous, even deadly. From the start, sixteen-year-old Noa senses that the mysterious transfer student to her Monterey boarding school is different. Callum unnerves and intrigues her, and even as she struggles through family tragedy, she’s irresistibly drawn to him. Soon they are bound by his deepest secret: Callum is Fae, banished from another world after a loss hauntingly similar to her own.

But in Noa’s world, Callum needs a special human energy, Light, to survive; his body steals it through touch—or a kiss. And Callum’s not the only Fae on the hunt. When Callum is taken, Noa must decide: Will she sacrifice everything to save him? Even if it means learning their love may not be what she thought? (from Amazon)

Also included was a Shattered Blue bookmark and sticker

A Hunger Games Mockingjay pin ( The Tsar starts the Crowns game, a duel of magical skill between two enchanters. The defeated is sentenced to death. Similar to the Hunger Games)
